About Andrew

I am a former UK Civil Servant with a BSc. in Politics, and an M.A. in British History from the University of London, with excellent verbal and written communication skills and a passion for teaching. I’m an experienced tutor, having worked successfully to prepare secondary students for their exams and with university students to improve their final dissertations. My other experiences include job-based mentoring and coaching and teaching English as a second language, and my education and career have given me a sophisticated understanding of British history, its laws, and contemporary politics.

About the lesson

I approach teaching by taking the time to learn each student's needs and motivations and tailoring my approach accordingly. I believe effective learning is two-way and a good tutor should approach teaching believing he can learn as much from his students as they will from him. I am happy to teach all levels from GCSE to university.
