About Jack
I am Jack, a Sophomore Business Student at UCLA. Despite being British, I moved to Spain 4 years ago, having never taken a Spanish class before.
Nowadays, I speak Spanish at a native level and want to share the value of a teaching style that focuses on verbal communication to build a functional, working Spanish base, rather than simply learning rules of grammar but struggling to communicate with locals.
As a Brit, I understand the difficulties of learning Spanish as an English speaker, but that is exactly why you should trust the verbal communication teaching style that taught me and many others.

Practicing verbal communication is a key method to improving understanding, vocabulary and pronunciation at any level. A typical lesson would be based on the student individually, however one can expect it to start with a short conversation in Spanish, to find the student's weak points. Subsequently, we will cover whichever weakness was identified in depth, explaining grammatical rules or easy memorization tricks. Then, the class would once again look to use conversation to ingrain what was just covered. This could be in form of a short presentation, debate or even a conversation about a topic of interest to the student.
What sets me apart as a tutor is that I have been in your position. I was taught Spanish from scratch with a conversational approach, and I now speak it at a native level. I recommend my lessons to any level of student that would like to take their Spanish from an academic level to a functional one.
