About Lauren

Hi, I’m Lauren, and I am currently a student at Durham University. As your tutor, my aim is to deliver engaging and supportive lessons that encourage students to ask questions and develop a clear, confident understanding of each topic. Having once been a tutee myself, I understand what it feels like to be on the other side of the screen. This experience allows me to approach tutoring with empathy and adaptability, ensuring lessons are tailored to each individual’s needs and learning style. I place great importance on creating an environment where students feel comfortable and motivated in their learning.

About the lesson

I am a dedicated tutor committed to helping GCSE and A Level students achieve and exceed their target grades in Psychology. My approach centres on delivering structured, engaging and highly productive lessons that build both subject knowledge and exam confidence. Each lesson is carefully designed to last one hour and is tailored to the individual student’s needs. The first 30 minutes focus on clear and concise delivery of key content, ensuring students develop a strong understanding of targeted topics and specification requirements. This is followed by 15 minutes dedicated to developing psychological depth and contextual understanding, helping students think critically and apply concepts effectively allowing them to access higher mark bands expected at top grades. The final portion of the lesson is used to assess and consolidate learning through exam-style questions and discussion. I have previously tutored primary school pupils in reading, supporting them in developing confidence, fluency and comprehension skills. In addition, I have provided English language support to students who required extra guidance, helping them strengthen foundational literacy skills. Alongside this, I have experienced tutoring A Level Psychology to a range of levels, aiming for my students to achieve their target grades and beyond.
