I work firmly on teaching English according to the mark scheme so a student can not only better understand what they are required to learn for each topic but attain methods to reach full marks on the exam. This includes analysis of the question so they understand where the marks essentially lie and how to utilise their revision accordingly. I often use exam questions as knowledge checks at the end of a session to test the students understanding. Clear and engaging Powerpoint presentations is my motto for teaching content to make the revision process more simple. Given the young ages of students with KS1/KS2 I prioritise engaging their interest so they remain motivated during learning rather than seeing it as a unavoidable chore.
