About Kaia

I am a dedicated violin tutor with 7 years of teaching and professional music experience, passionate about helping students achieve technical mastery, musical expression, and self-confidence. I teach school and college students at all levels, from beginners learning their first notes to advanced learners preparing for recitals, exams, and competitions.

One of the most meaningful milestones in my career has been guiding students from struggling with posture, bowing, or rhythm to performers capable of playing with skill, emotion, and expressive interpretation.

My teaching emphasises strong technical foundations, including posture, finger placement, bowing technique, rhythm, tone, and intonation, while also fostering creativity, musical interpretation, and expressive playing. I integrate music theory, sight-reading, listening exercises, and performance practice to provide students with a complete musical education.

Lessons are tailored to each student’s pace, learning style, and goals, creating a supportive, patient, and inspiring environment where students are encouraged to explore, express themselves, and reach their full potential. Teaching violin allows me to cultivate confidence, discipline, and a lifelong passion for music.

About the lesson

I teach violin with a methodology based on motivation, communication, creativity, and integrity, designed to develop technically competent, expressive, and confident musicians. Lessons are personalised to the student’s goals, abilities, and learning style, combining technical practice, creative exploration, improvisation, and performance preparation.

Motivation drives engagement. I guide students to set achievable goals, monitor progress, and celebrate milestones, fostering perseverance, self-confidence, and enjoyment in learning. Students learn to view challenges as opportunities to grow and understand the importance of consistent practice.

Communication ensures lessons are interactive, collaborative, and supportive. Students can share challenges, ask questions, and explore ideas freely, creating a positive and engaging learning environment.

Creativity is central to my approach. Improvisation, composition, and interpretation exercises allow students to explore their artistic voice and deepen their emotional connection to music. Integrity emphasises disciplined, responsible practice and respect for learning, cultivating habits that support long-term growth and excellence.

Alongside violin, I teach music theory, sight-reading, ear training, rhythm exercises, and piano, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of music that prepares them for both performance and academic achievement.
