My Tutoring Approach As a Bachelor of Teaching English as a Second Language (BTESL) graduate, I bring a structured, engaging, and student-centered approach to teaching English. I have experience working with students from Year 1 to Form 5 (SPM) in the national curriculum, as well as Year 1 to Year 7 students in international schools (IGCSE track). Teaching Techniques & Methodology I use a blend of modern and traditional tools to cater to different learning styles and keep lessons interactive: Slides: I prepare visually engaging slides to introduce and explain grammar, vocabulary, and writing techniques clearly. Printed Materials: Worksheets, guided writing templates, and reading texts are used for hands-on practice and reinforcement. Videos: Short clips, songs, and animations are incorporated to build listening skills, spark discussions, and make abstract concepts more relatable. Online Tools: Platforms like Quizizz, Kahoot, and Wordwall are used regularly for quick assessments, games, and revision in a fun and motivating way. Lesson Duration A typical lesson lasts between 1 to 2 hours, depending on the student’s age, focus level, and lesson goals. Each lesson includes: Warm-up or recap of the previous lesson Core learning activities (reading, writing, speaking, listening) Interactive tasks or games Review and feedback Qualifications & Experience Degree: Bachelor in Teaching English as a Second Language (BTESL) Experience: National curriculum: Teaching English to students in Year 1 to Form 5 (SPM) International curriculum: Experience with IGCSE students from Year 1 to Year 7 Familiar with differentiated instruction and scaffolding for mixed-ability learners Who My Lessons Are For Age Group: 7 to 17 years old Levels: Primary & Secondary (KSSR & KSSM) IGCSE English learners (Year 1 to Year 7) I also tailor lessons for specific needs such as: Grammar improvement Essay writing skills Exam preparation (PT3, SPM, IGCSE) Speaking and listening fluency
