About Heaven
Inspiring Confidence, Growth, and a Love for Learning ~
Hi! My name is Heaven Hart, and I’m a dedicated tutor with a passion for helping students discover their potential and achieve academic success. I specialize in Math, Science, English, and College Readiness for students in grades 6–12, offering a supportive and engaging learning experience tailored to each student’s unique needs and goals.
---
My Background and Experience: I’ve had the privilege of working with students across a wide range of ages and learning styles. For two years, I served as a youth instructor with the LINC Before and After School Program at Dobbs Elementary, where I created and led interactive lessons that supported both academic growth and social development for elementary school students.
Currently, I work with De LaSalle High School students through their Block 37 Health Professions Club, where I’ve been facilitating after-school learning sessions for the past two months (and counting). In this role, I develop and deliver lesson plans designed to engage and challenge students while helping them explore real-world applications of what they learn. These experiences have allowed me to teach students from diverse backgrounds and varying learning levels — from energetic elementary learners to ambitious high school scholars — reinforcing my ability to adapt lessons and inspire success in every student I work with.
---
My Teaching Philosophy: I believe that education is not just about mastering material — it’s about building confidence and curiosity. My tutoring approach centers on understanding each student’s learning style and designing lessons that are interactive, supportive, and goal-oriented. I focus on helping students see their own progress, celebrate their achievements, and develop the mindset that they *can* succeed. Whether we’re tackling a tricky math concept, strengthening writing skills, or preparing for college, I create a safe and motivating environment where students feel encouraged to grow.
---
What Sets Me Apart: What distinguishes me as a tutor is my combination of experience, empathy, and structure. My background in both elementary and high school education allows me to communicate concepts clearly at any level, while my lesson plans are designed to balance rigor with encouragement. I take pride in my professionalism, preparation, and consistency — each session is thoughtfully planned to meet specific learning goals. Students and parents can expect reliability, patience, and a commitment to measurable progress. ---
Who I Work With: I provide personalized online tutoring for ~ •Middle School Students (Grades 6-8): Building academic confidence and study habits.
•High School Students (Grades 9–12): Strengthening subject mastery and preparing for college success. •College-Bound Students: Refining essays, time management, and college readiness skills.
---
Let’s Achieve Academic Growth Together! My mission is simple: to help every student feel confident, capable, and inspired to learn. With a personalized, engaging, and compassionate approach, I empower students to not only reach their academic goals — but to exceed them.

My tutoring approach focuses on building confidence first, then mastery. I believe every student learns differently, so I tailor each session to fit their individual learning style—whether visual, auditory, or hands-on. I use real-world examples, interactive exercises, and practical problem-solving techniques to make complex concepts more understandable and engaging.
I emphasize understanding over memorization, encouraging students to think critically, ask questions, and connect lessons to their everyday lives. My sessions are designed to be collaborative, supportive, and encouraging, helping students feel motivated and capable of success.
A Typical Lesson Plan ~
Each lesson follows a structured yet flexible format:
1. Warm-Up (5–10 minutes): Quick review of previous material and goal setting for the day.
2. Core Lesson (25–35 minutes): Focused instruction using examples, visuals, and guided practice.
3. Application (15–20 minutes): Independent or real-world problem-solving to reinforce understanding.
4. Reflection & Feedback (5–10 minutes): Recap of what was learned, address challenges, and set next steps.
* I also provide optional follow-up resources or practice materials for students who want to keep improving between sessions.
What Sets Me Apart:
What sets me apart as a tutor is my ability to make learning personal, practical, and enjoyable. With years of experience supporting diverse learners, I know how to meet students where they are—whether they’re striving to catch up, stay on track, or get ahead.
I focus on the whole learner, helping them develop not just academic skills but also study habits, time management, and a growth mindset that carries beyond the classroom. My goal is for students to leave each session feeling both smarter and more confident.
Who My Lessons Are For:
My lessons are designed for middle and high school students (grades 6–12) seeking personalized support in:
• Math: From foundational skills to algebra, geometry, and beyond.
• Science: General science, biology, chemistry, and introductory physics.
• English: Reading comprehension, writing, grammar, and essay development.
• College Readiness: Study skills, test prep, personal statement guidance, and academic organization.
* Whether a student needs extra help mastering a subject, wants to prepare for college-level work, or simply aims to boost confidence in learning, my tutoring provides the tools and support they need to succeed.
