About Ivan
I am Ivan and I am originally from Ukraine but since the beginning of the war in Ukraine I have relocated to Germany and now live here. I am currently 17 but so far I can offer a diversity of skills and experience obtained during different occasions. I have already worked as an English teacher in a private tutoring school, where I have created my own teaching strategy. Apart from that, I used to work as a translator for nonprofit organizations, where I translated from English to Russian, and from English to Slovak. But the highest achievement that I can boast about is that I have learned 5 languages, all by myself. These include German, English, Slovak, Czech, and Russian. To be even more specific, I have learned German to a fluent level just in 5 months. And it took only 4 months for me to learn Slovak and Czech to a fluent level. Back in the days when I was an English teacher I really enjoyed seeing my students succeeding with English, since then it became a lifetime goal for me, to contribute to the development and success of others. One of my advantages is my age. I am only 17 and it allows me to understand my students' behavior, how their brains work, and what they need for successful achievements.

Since I have started teaching English in a private tutoring school in Ukraine, I have developed a whole new system of teaching English. I usually worked with kids and teenagers from 7 to 15 years old. My own system is not built on how to make or to force a kid to learn the language but it is rather built on how to make a child love this language. I always stand for consistency and sustainability in a kid's progress. I don't believe in natural skills and therefore I think that anyone can learn languages as well as any other subject, if they have the right strategy that I provide them with. I don't use old-fashioned learning systems such as using printed, boring workbooks or giving pupils tons of grammar and vocabulary that they don't even need, but instead, I use methods that are aimed at keeping learners interested in a combination with useful grammar, and vocabulary that my students practice immediately after learning them (usually speaking with each other). My teaching technique's motto is - "Connection over perfection". This basically means that I put all my effort into developing students' abilities to express themselves in English effectively, in order to be understood, but not to become perfect in the language and to learn thousands of grammar rules and vocabulary that will be forgotten right after the end of the class. My system is proved by my students' achievements. For instance, 10 children finished English courses with A2 level of English proficiency certificate to the IELTS system, 27 children got B1 level, 8 children achieved B2 level.
