About Vishnu

Hi everyone, I am a PhD student at the University of Calgary, pursuing a degree in Physics and Neuroscience. Having experienced education in India, Germany, UK and Canada, I have a holistic perspective about learning and being an international student myself, I empathize with some struggles that people might face in adapting to a new learning environment.

Additionally, I have overcome a few mental barriers including ADHD and anxiety to get to where I am today, and it would be extremely rewarding to help another individual get through similar hurdles.

My curiosity and learning are not purely academic as I am very interested in sports, particularly football (soccer). Additionally, I am very proud to say that I was able to become a self taught dancer, choreographing a ticketed performance for over 600 people using some of the learning strategies I have acquired over the years. I look forward to sharing these with students to help them succeed in most areas of life.

About the lesson

My philosophy is that learning is a very individualized approach and there is no one size fits all strategy. Therefore, it is very important for me to get to know the student and how they learn and I tailor my delivery of information accordingly. In my lessons, I promote critical and interdisciplinary thinking along with solidifying fundamental understanding of the subjects. I also aim for the lessons to be more enjoyable by using examples that a student can relate to, based off their interests and goals.
