About Kaylee
I started surfing when I was about ten years old, plunging into the icy cold ocean of Northern California (forget the palm trees and sunny skies of LA and San Diego, think more fog and thick wetsuits and sharky waters). My passion for surfing didn't really start until after I'd finished high school, and since then I have worked hard to improve my skills and my knowledge of the ocean. I gave my first private lesson when I was nineteen years old, and have also worked at a surf camp in Costa Rica, taught lessons through my university, and worked at a Mexican outdoor adventure and tour company who's main activity was surfing.

I like to first assess my student's water knowledge, swimming level, physical conditions, and of course make them comfortable by having a conversation either one on one or with the group. Typically I would give a land lesson before putting anybody in the water, which would involve sharing information about tides, waves, surf etiquette, etc. Once in the water, my goal is to get a smile on everybody's face!

My base rate is in accordance with the standard rate in my area, as well as calculating in my own costs and time. If there are extra skills or information a student would like to learn, I'd be happy to negotiate an adjusted price. Please provide at least 6 hours of notice if you need to cancel or reschedule.
