About Bogdan

If you want to learn how to balance on your hands, get stronger and more mobile, move better, learn some flips or just make your training more fun and interesting, I am your guy. Let's do this! I coach parkour & freerunning and have coached people of all ages, from 12-83 years old. I am qualified as a L3 PT and L2 Parkour Coach. If we work together you can expect to be challenged but also to have fun and play. I am adaptable and can work in a gym setting, calisthenics park or an open space. I started practising parkour and handbalancing when I was 15. I am a seasoned practitioner with experience in martial arts (Taiji, Capoeira, Taekwondo, BJJ, Aikido), team sports, strength training, and dance (Breakin').

I use a holistic approach to building strength, mobility through movement patterns from a wide palette of disciplines. If you are familiar with the Ido Portal method, then you have a rough idea about what I do. Tools I like to use for development are tennis balls and footballs, gymnastics rings, short and long sticks. In the session you can expect a mix of things, generally stuff that I realise you need to work on.

  • What age did you start playing sport? Tell us about this time or moment in your life.

I have always been active as a child. Running and jumping everywhere, climbing trees etc. I have no memory of it but my grandma used to tell me I would say hi to her from a tree at the same height as her third floor apartment!!

I first engaged in an organised sport activity at 6 years old when I started playing tennis. I fell in love with it straight away. Starting school also meant that I would have a team to play football with, which I used to love as a child.
  • What are your favourite sports; those that you practice at a high level, a simple hobby, and a sport that you'd still like to discover?

My favourite sports include parkour, breakin', capoeira and table tennis. I am a parkour coach and have progressed a fair amount in hand balancing in recent years. More recently I have taken up Brazilian jiu jitsu, as well as surfing. I would still like to discover boxing as an art form and develop some skateboarding or longboarding skills, as well as improve my surfing.
  • What gives you the motivation and passion to pursue your sport?

I find motivation through my curiosity of human movement and my desire to become better in whatever I practice. I fuel this desire by surrounding myself with like-minded people. The benefits I observe and reap from my practice increase my love and my passion to explore.
  • Do you have a sporting achievement that you're particularly proud of?

I am particularly proud of my short one arm handstand holds as they have been a big investment over the last 5 years. I do appreciate competitions but I'm more interested in personal development rather than winning titles.
  • How have your achievements and challenges made you a better sportsperson?

Every challenge that I set out for myself gives me the opportunity to reach for it and become better. I believe our value as humans is in part linked to what we do and what we are able to do, therefore I am continuously striving to do and be better. It's not a complicated philosophy for me.
  • If you had to go for a jog with a famous athlete, who would you choose? And what questions would you ask them?

I would choose Timothy Shieff as he is one of my early inspirations in parkour. I would ask him about his relationship with his diet and how it has changed over the years, and I would pick his brain about his movement practice and perspective on the physical training methods that work best for him. What a legend...
  • How do you help people stay motivated?

I try to always bring motivating, positive energy in my sessions and congratulate my clients on their achievements. For my online clients, I also have weekly accountability calls where I help them through any emotional, psychological or logistical issues they might have. Most importanly, I bring my clients results, which directly fuel their motivation for progress.
  • What makes you a Superprof in sports?

I believe my value as a coach shines through my breadth of knowledge and experience, generalist approach and love for humans. I want you to become better, I care about your quality of life and cultivate patience both in my own practice and in my coaching. I'm also curious about what you are capable of achieving. Let's find out!
