About Tom
I live in Pontcanna, Cardiff, and have a five year-old son, Wilfred. I love living here because of the rich and varied and cultural life it offers, particularly Welsh National Opera, the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, and the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama; I'm lucky to have worked for all three of these great institutions.
My work as a free-lance musician with choirs, orchestras and opera houses, has taken me around the UK and abroad, collaborating with people from wide-ranging backgrounds and nationalities. (I speak some French and German if that is helpful.)
My work demands me to be to be organised, conscientious and prepared, and I take all of these attributes into my teaching.

I enjoy working with pupils of all ages and abilities, from beginners to advanced. I always tailor my approach to suit the needs of the individual student, using my experience to guide, inspire, instil confidence, and create a pupil/tutor dynamic that is engaging and enjoyable.
