About Jake
Hi! I am a CELTA certified teacher with 10+ years of experience of 1-1 tuition in English Language and Literature. I have helped 100s of students achieve the exam results they have been dreaming of, or simply helped give them boost of confidence they need in order to flourish.
I am a PhD student at the University of Bristol, having just recivied a distinction in my MA in English Literature. I recieved 120 marks out of 120 in my English Literature A-level, so am very in tune with what examiners are looking for in your responses, and techniques for revision and essay writing! Equally, if you are simply looking to rediscover a love for learning and languages, I would be happy to help. I love helping to find and nourish a student's interests and help them to describe the world around them.

As a teacher, my philosophy is that learning should be engaging and dynamic. The student should be active in their own learning process, and classes should be fun. I will offer advice in understanding what the examiner is looking for and techniques for revision. I understand that every student is unique and I will always tailor my classes to my student's specific needs.
Learning is an individual journey and I will nourish this with creativity and empathy. Exams are important - but so is learning simply for the love of learning! I can help nourish discovery throghout the education process, and collaborate with my students to foster creativity, excitment and joy!
