About Shayan
I am in my second year studying History at Peterhouse, Cambridge. I attained the bi-lingual European Baccalaureate from the European School of Munich, which I visited for my entire school career. I am still active in the school community as I guide prospective UCAS applicants by teaching different ways of perfecting uniques personal statements (specifically for Oxbridge) and preparing them for interviews. I enjoy teaching any f the Humanities as well as German and particularly enjoy mentoring students throughout the challenging and exciting UCAS process.

My teaching method hinges on creativity and adapting the course to my student. The Humanities have something to offer for everyone and what matters is presenting a cohesive overview of the subject, giving the student more room to discover what his/her interest truly is. When it comes to English it is crucial to motivate reading, and to allow this to influence creativity in writing. For History on the other hand one must present the past as the exciting and multi-faceted story that it is, something which supervisors at Cambridge have truly taught me.
For UCAS application guidance it is important for me to understand my student's interests and passion. A good personal statement needs to show off this passion and I have various tips on how to do this creatively and effectively. My UCAS guidance encompasses advice on extra-curricular activity and reading as well, as this can be a huge help to presenting an image that stands out.
