About Emily
I study French and Spanish at the University of Cambridge. This degree encompasses the study of language, literature, history and philosophy along with many other educational areas all into one, and it is why I especially enjoy it because I believe that learning is about the pursuit of knowledge and a rounded education, not just learning exactly what one needs to pass an exam. I am especially passionate about languages and their ability to connect people from all walks of life. I view them as bridges to understanding, and firmly believe that they enrich and broaden one's experience of the world.
I have always thrived in taking exams and I do think that they are a good way to measure your abilities. I think it is absolutely possible for all people and all learning types to excel in the exam-style system. What is important is that you find the best exam technique that works for you, and that's where I can help. I encourage vocal, enthusiastic and engaged learning with a hope to spark a genuine interest in your subject of study.

I will structure my Online Lessons around the specific exam syllabus you are studying. Depending on the subject I will develop lesson plans centred on primarily establishing your knowledge of the course content, and then moving on to past paper material. I will measure progress initially through grammar and vocabulary tests. Once we think you are ready we will move on to exam style questions, so that you can develop your exam technique. Learning how to approach the exam is half the battle, and once you know what method works for you I can assure you that your results will improve. My approach was to complete most of my exam papers backwards! For me this got the big essay style questions out of the way whilst I had the most energy, and I was able to complete the easier, initial questions towards the end of the exam. That was the method that worked for me, but together we will figure out the best approach for you.
