About Lily
I am a recent graduate from the University of Cambridge, about to turn 22. I tutor because I adore English Literature, and hope to inspire my students to love it too. I remember how overwhelming the exam period can be, but believe that with the right practice and training every student can achieve top marks. In our sessions, I hope to empower all of my students to take responsibility over their own learning and delve into higher-level texts, giving them the confidence to grow and show interviewers and examiners alike what they are capable of.

I am an experienced tutor, who has supported students ranging in age and ability over the last three years. Having achieved a high First Class degree at Cambridge Undergraduate and scored 100% in my English Literature A-level, I am a confident and proficient mentor with a passion for my subject and an aptitude for exam preparation. I relish the opportunity to inspire my students, encouraging them to read beyond the curriculum and take control of their own learning, deepening knowledge in areas that excite them whilst maintaining intellectual breadth. A typical session lasts for an hour and I like to tailor my teaching to exam style questions, working from past papers or analysing exam board supplied texts, so that my students are confident with the exam format. I like to teach my student a new analytical technique or phrase every lesson, and take them through the stages of reading, analysis, planning, and writing in response to essay questions.
