About Scott J

Have a Master's degree in Composition and a 2:1 Performance Honours degree both from the University of Aberdeen. Now a Music classroom teacher for Dundee City Council. Have previously worked as a Cello/Double Bass Instructor for Angus and Aberdeenshire Council and have a wide range of teaching experience. Pupils have gone on to achieve many things including some grade 8 Distinctions, places in NYOS (including 1 leading NYOS Seniors Cellos) and an average of 93% for all theory exam results. Adults and children both welcome. Have a current enhanced disclosure. Playing experience includes Aberdeen Sinfonietta, NYOS, Grampian Sinfonia plus various other orchestras, musicals and opera. Previously Manager of Grampian Youth Orchestra so have experience dealing with young people as well as developing their orchestral experience.

About the lesson

Teach Double Bass, Cello & Theory. Individual lessons to help meet the needs of certain individuals. Use of a mixture of methods to accommodate pupils of all ages, levels & abilities. Have previously worked as a Cello/Double Bass Instructor for Angus and Aberdeenshire Council and have a wide range of teaching experience. Also teach linking to SQA requirements so can prepare pupils for performance/listening exams. Adults and children both welcome. Have a current enhanced disclosure. Playing experience includes Aberdeen Sinfonietta, NYOS, Grampian Sinfonia, Dundee Symphony Orchestra plus various other orchestras, musicals and opera.
