About Hermione

I am a recently graduated cello student from the Royal Northern College of Music with 16 years experience playing with various ensembles for different occasions.

I have been teaching as part of Gloucestershire Academy of Music, and privately both in schools and individuals, since September 2024 where my student numbers continue to grow, and am also part of Gloucester Symphony Orchestra conducted under Glyn Oxley.

I have been principal cellist of Gloucester Youth Chamber Orchestra, where we have played for Cheltenham Festival, premiering an opera, as well as Gloucester's Tall Ships Festival to name a few. I have also played alongside the Carducci Quartet, the European Chamber Orchestra, and with Michael Bocchman.

At RNCM I have been principal cellist of the Marriage of Figaro opera and am part of multiple small chamber music groups, as well as regularly being involved with internal projects.

I also have a full enhanced DBS.

About the lesson

My name is Hermione, and as a tutor I aspire to make my lessons fun and enjoyable, and encourage students to always ask questions to help them progress further. This also helps to develop individual goals, as well as plan short and long term targets.

As a recently graduated RNCM student, my exposure to current pedagogy and performing professionals, and their techniques, will help me shape each of my lessons. Bringing current ideas of teaching to my students benefits all as we don't all learn in the same way. This means, as each student is individual, they can get the most of of my teaching.

My lessons are typically half an hour or an hour depending on what each student prefers. All ages and levels are welcome :)
