About Mariia
I am an English teacher based in Canada. I have been living and teaching all over the world (Canada, Malaysia, Russia) for 11 years, and I know from my own experience how important it is not only to speak the language but also to understand the culture behind it and fully integrate into local society. I am a native Russian speaker, and I also speak French, as I have been living in Québec for the past 3 years. I am very passionate about languages, and I know that learning them can be quite challenging. That is why I always adapt lessons to my students' needs, choose the most effective methods for their specific goals, and make sure that our classes bring a lot of joy.

I mostly focus on speaking skills and make sure that the learning process is enjoyable, as it is essential for achieving high academic results.
I teach all levels from Beginners to Advanced, and I have vast experience in teaching business English. I was working for 5 years in an international company (finance and client support), so I help my students with business communications, writing CVs, and job interview preparation.
During the trial lesson, I ask my students to describe their expectations, learning background, and goals, so that together we can discuss the best way to achieve them. I mostly use a communicative approach to help my students speak freely, but we also work on listening, reading, writing, and grammar to fully master the language and feel confident in any context and situation.
