About Silvia

I am a Spanish Knitwear Designer based in London. Graduating from Central Saint Martins in Fashion Design with Knitwear with First Class Honours, and my dedication to sustainability earned me the prestigious LVMH Green Trail 2023 Award during my final year. Additionally, my expertise in knitwear was recognised with the Frameworks Knitters Award 2023.

Throughout my academic journey, I worked for renowned brands such as Vivienne Westwood, LVMH, and Charles Jeffrey Loverboy. Currently, I divide my time between managing my sustainable knitwear brand, ACIEN, which has made significant contributions to events like London Fashion Week, Dutch Design Week, and Future Fabric Expo. Simultaneously, I work part-time as a Womenswear Designer for a London-based brand and freelance as a knitwear designer for various labels.

My creative focus lies in knitwear and crochet techniques that delve into intricate 3D volumes and unconventional shapes. I am committed to integrating zero-waste techniques into the fashion landscape, employing organic and sustainable fibres.

Over the past six years, my specialisation in regeneration and sustainability has provided valuable insights into optimal materials for eco-conscious designs.
In addition to my thriving design career, I am a dedicated and knowledgeable tutor. My expertise spans diverse fields, including fashion, sustainability, knitwear, weaving, and textiles.

About the lesson

I offer both online and in-person lessons, with in-person sessions conducted at my residence in West Hampstead, London.

Having previously instructed short courses at Central Saint Martins on textiles, sustainability, design, and street fashion, as well as workshops with the Fashion District, I bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to my teaching.
