About Ryan

I have been tutoring students for the last three years, with 10+ years of fashion industry experience, and with extensive experience in styling and image making, including film. I graduated with a 1st from Central Saint Martins with an MA in Fashion Image (FCP). Prior to this I also completed my BA in Graphic Design and Foundation Diploma, both at CSM too. My own practice involves styling, creative direction, consulting, art direction, retouching, graphic design, and video, under the name Lily Bling. My styling and creative direction has featured in magazines including Vogue USA, Vogue Italia, PAPER, and Wonderland to name a few. I thoroughly enjoy the process of mood boarding, research, and styling. I consistently develop my practice and have lectured and taught at Central Saint Martins and London College of Fashion. I have also had solo features in Dazed, i-D, AnOther and many more publications. I am also a regular SHOWstudio panellist.

About the lesson

Please note that due to my busy schedule, I travel frequently so most of my lessons are organised online. My sessions cover all topics that relate to fashion image making, including styling, photography, film, and graphic/editorial design, including research and mood boards. My tutoring approach is characterised by patience, encouragement, understanding, and a genuine passion for nurturing creative talent. Each session is tailored to your individual needs and skill level, ensuring a personalised learning experience that maximises your potential. Skills include Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Premiere Pro. Drawing from my own experiences at Central Saint Martins, I offer specialised assistance for those who need help with portfolio development and the application process, as well as those who simply wish to further develop their practice. I can provide valuable insights and tips to help you present your work in the most compelling and professional manner. As a freelance stylist, I can share with you the most up-to-date and relevant fashion tutoring, with a deep understanding of the current industry. Honesty is at the core of my teaching philosophy. Constructive feedback is crucial for growth, and I am committed to providing honest assessments that will empower you to refine your craft and reach your desired goals. I believe in giving structured courses that diagnose and address potential weaknesses and strengths both in portfolio and process. I am useful to those who wish to work in a fast pace and generate lots of ideas quickly, and I also am patient with those who may have difficulty expressing themselves creatively and/or linguistically. Upon initial contact with me, I offer a free of charge video chat consultation in order to understand what your needs are, and whether I can assist you. If that is the case, I will suggest the most effective plan of action.
