About Courtney
I am a graduate of Ohio University. I received my Bachelor of Science in Education with a focus on Integrated Science Education. I then earned my Masters of Education with a major in Curriculum and Instruction and a minor in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) from Concordia University. Since graduation, I have taught and coached in Ohio. I am most passionate in seeing students grow and succeed. I have worked with students from kindergarten to adults. On a wide range of subjects. I like to focus on students small successes in order to reach their bigger goals. I have worked with both virtual and in person students. Since working with varsity tutors I have expanded to working with PRAXIS, OAE, GED, and a variety of math and science based subjects. I have worked with students of all ages.
In my free time I like to go on hikes with my family, run, go camping, and play ultimate frisbee. I am very competitive and enjoy spending my time watching or playing sports and games.

I like to meet with my students and discuss their specific learning style. I pride myself in being able to teach to all learning styles. I believe in learning through doing, this may be doing practice problems, working with test samples, or physically doing a lab. Once we identify weaknesses in a student we will focus on building confidence in those particular areas.
I have been tutoring since 2022. I have tutored a wide range of subjects. These subjects include but are not limited to the following: GED, SAT, ACT, CSET, MTCC, PRAXIS (Teacher licensure), OAE, Mathematics (k-12), Science (K-12), ASVAB, VCLA.
