About Olivia
Hello! My name is Olivia, and I am a passionate and dedicated educator specializing in elementary education. I recently completed my teacher training and have experience working with children in a variety of classroom and learning environments. I am committed to helping students build strong academic foundations while also developing confidence, curiosity, and a positive attitude toward learning.
I believe that every child learns differently, and my role as a tutor is to meet students where they are and support them in reaching their full potential. I take a calm, patient, and encouraging approach, creating a safe learning space where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and growing at their own pace.
My background in education has given me a strong understanding of curriculum expectations, effective teaching strategies, and how to adapt instruction to different learning needs. I am experienced in supporting literacy, numeracy, French language learning, science, social sciences, and overall study skills for elementary-aged students.
Above all, I aim to make learning meaningful and engaging. I strive to help students not only improve their academic skills but also develop independence, resilience, and confidence that will support them throughout their education.
I look forward to working with students and families to create positive and successful learning experiences.

My tutoring approach is student-centred, supportive, and highly adaptable. I believe that children learn best when they feel safe, encouraged, and actively engaged in their learning. My goal is not only to help students improve academically, but also to build their confidence and independence as learners.

I use a combination of:
• Hands-on, interactive learning activities
• Guided practice with step-by-step modelling
• Visual supports and real-world examples
• Positive reinforcement and growth mindset strategies
• Differentiated instruction based on each student’s needs and learning style
I regularly check for understanding and adjust my teaching in real time to ensure students feel successful and supported.
Typical Lesson Structure
A typical session is structured but flexible:
• Quick check-in and review of prior learning
• Introduction of new concept or skill in a clear, simple way
• Guided practice together with support and scaffolding
• Independent practice to build confidence
• Short review and reflection to reinforce learning
Homework help and test preparation can also be included when needed.
