As a music teacher, my approach is rooted in joyful learning through real-world application. I blend traditional techniques with modern music theory to help students not only understand the how but also the why behind what they play or sing.
Teaching Techniques & Methods
I use a performance-based and ear-training approach, combining visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning styles. Whether it’s Hindustani vocal techniques or contemporary pop rhythm patterns, I ensure students build a strong foundation in rhythm, melody, and expression. For instrument learners (guitar, bass, drums, tabla), I incorporate Trinity-style exercises along with improvisation and jam sessions to make learning lively and practical.
Class Structure
Each class typically includes:
Warm-ups (vocal/instrument-specific)
Theory nugget (scales, rhythm, ragas, etc.)
Practice and feedback on a chosen piece or exercise
Creativity corner (improvisation, composition, or jamming)
Q&A or recap with goal-setting for the week
