About Raymond
I am a reassuring, calm, and precise instructor of the language, with a deep passion for "italianistica": the study of Italy's history, literature, language, and culture. I strongly prefer that my students start by taking the initiative to propose lesson topic ideas that interest them and by communicating their learning goals to me from the outset.

Open to language tandems and conversational practice, basic phraseology introductions, and deeper grammar/lexical/syntax instruction for student levels from beginner to intermediate. I make use of a variety of online tools from across the web. I benefit from a deep knowledge of the Italian language and culture, having been a lifelong student myself, as well as from being a native speaker of American English.

I know Raymond from when he was a child, as I am friends with his mother. Raymond has been a student of the Italian language since grade school and through college. His father was born and bred in Italy, and I am amazed at how they get on together in the language. Raymond has attempted to tutor me and is kind and patient. Alas, I am a poor student. If anyone is serious about learning the language, I have no doubt Raymond will serve you well. In addition, Raymond has written many poems in Italian, so I’m confident he knows the correct grammar.
