About Brianna

Hi! I'm Brianna, and I have always been passionate about education, history, and helping others succeed. I earned my Bachelor's degree in History from the University of Illinois at Chicago and my Master's degree in Secondary Education from Lewis University. I am currently pursuing my PhD in History while teaching high school full-time because I believe learning is a lifelong process, and I enjoy continually expanding my own knowledge so I can better support my students.

I am a certified special education teacher and certified secondary social studies teacher entering my third year of teaching high school. Every day, I work with students who have a wide range of learning styles, strengths, and challenges. Before becoming a teacher, I spent several years working one-on-one with individuals with disabilities, experiences that reinforced my belief that patience, encouragement, and individualized support can make a meaningful difference in a student's life.

Outside of the classroom, I'm someone who genuinely enjoys learning. Whether I'm researching history for my doctoral studies, creating engaging classroom lessons, reading, or finding new ways to make learning more accessible, I love sharing that enthusiasm with others. I believe the best teachers never stop learning themselves, and I bring that mindset into every tutoring session.

My goal is to provide students with a professional, supportive, and encouraging learning experience where they feel respected, challenged, and confident in their ability to succeed. I understand that asking for extra help can feel intimidating, and I strive to create an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and celebrating their progress.

Hi! I'm Brianna, a certified special education teacher entering my third year of teaching high school. I believe every student can succeed when instruction is tailored to their individual strengths and learning needs. My goal is not only to help students improve academically, but also to build their confidence and help them become independent, lifelong learners.

Every tutoring session is personalized to the student's goals, current skill level, and learning style. Whether we're working on English, writing, history, grammar, reading comprehension, study skills, or executive functioning, I focus on breaking challenging concepts into manageable steps. Rather than simply giving answers, I teach students strategies they can use independently in school and beyond.

My lessons are interactive, supportive, and paced to meet each student's needs. A typical session may include reviewing classroom material, practicing new skills together, working through difficult assignments, and developing study or organizational strategies that students can continue using outside of tutoring. I believe learning is most effective when students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and celebrating their progress.

I primarily work with middle school, high school, and early college students, including those with IEPs, ADHD, and other learning differences. My experience as a classroom teacher allows me to understand the expectations students face while adapting instruction to help them reach their individual goals. Whether you're looking for ongoing academic support, help preparing for an exam, or guidance on becoming a more confident and organized learner, I would love the opportunity to help you succeed.
