About Traci
I am a certified teacher with extensive experience as a reading specialist, literacy instructor, and special education teacher. Throughout my career, I have helped students with a wide range of abilities develop stronger reading skills, greater independence, and increased confidence.
My specialized training includes comprehensive Orton-Gillingham instruction and practicum experience, morphology, Structured Word Inquiry, EBLI, dyslexia intervention, and Lindamood-Bell Visualizing and Verbalizing. I have also worked extensively with students who are dyslexic, as well as students with ADHD, autism, and other learning differences.
I was honored to be named Teacher of the Year and have presented professional workshops on reading intervention and supporting students with diverse learning needs. I have also mentored educators completing Orton-Gillingham coursework.
I understand how frustrating reading can become when a student has struggled despite working hard. My goal is to create a safe, positive learning environment where students feel respected, supported, and comfortable making mistakes. I bring patience, preparation, professionalism, and genuine care to every lesson while helping each student experience progress and rediscover confidence in their abilities.

My name is Traci, and I provide personalized, one-on-one reading instruction in a patient, encouraging, and engaging environment. I use evidence-based structured literacy methods to help students strengthen phonemic awareness, phonics, decoding, spelling, fluency, vocabulary, morphology, and reading comprehension. Lessons are explicit, systematic, and tailored to each student’s individual strengths, challenges, interests, and pace.
A typical lesson begins with a brief review of previously learned skills, followed by direct instruction in a new concept. The student then practices applying the skill through sound activities, word building, spelling, reading connected text, and comprehension practice. I provide immediate feedback and adjust each lesson based on the student’s responses and progress.
I believe students learn best when they feel successful and enjoy participating. I incorporate interactive activities, word games, student interests, choices, and positive encouragement to make lessons fun and motivating. I celebrate progress and help students recognize their growth, which can build confidence and encourage them to keep trying when reading feels difficult.
What sets me apart is my extensive experience as a certified teacher, reading specialist, and special education teacher. I have completed comprehensive Orton-Gillingham training and practicum experience, along with specialized training in morphology, Structured Word Inquiry, EBLI, dyslexia, and reading comprehension. I understand that reading difficulties can affect a student’s confidence, so I combine skilled instruction with patience, encouragement, and genuine care.
My lessons are designed for elementary, middle, and high school students who need support with foundational reading skills, spelling, fluency, or comprehension. I also have extensive experience supporting students with dyslexia, ADHD, autism, and other learning differences. Each lesson is designed to help the student develop stronger skills, experience success, and become a more confident, independent reader.
