About Sophie

I am a highly qualified tutor who is friendly, approachable and patient. I am flexible in my approach and I am available for one off sessions or repeat bookings. I thoroughly enjoy helping students to improve their grades whilst also building their confidence and enjoyment of the subject matter.

About the lesson

I am a Chartered Psychologist and Former Lecturer in Psychology and Research Methods & Statistics. I have 10 years experience working in Higher Education as a researcher and lecturer. My research specialised in children’s cognitive development, and in particular the development of mathematical skills.

I have over 5 years tutoring experience and enjoy using a variety of delivery methods and activities to engage learners of different backgrounds and ages.

I am delighted to offer personalised one-to-one tutoring in all of the following areas: A-Level and Degree Level - Psychology, Research Methods and Statistics, Dissertation writing.

I work evenings (from 7pm) Mon-Wed and Fri-Sun. Daytime lessons can be arranged for weekends if advance notice is given.

All my teaching materials and activities are tailored to the individual’s needs. My teaching style aims to enhance not only subject specific knowledge and skills, but general study skills that are important for learning in many areas. I seek to build confidence, enjoyment and positive attitudes towards learning.
