About Mina

I'm a Chemistry graduate student conducting research at Villanova University, where I also teach at least three lab sections each semester. My training began during my undergraduate studies at Drexel University, and I’ve also worked in the industry as a chemist. These experiences gave me a strong foundation, but I still learn something new every day—through research, teaching, and staying endlessly curious. What draws me to chemistry is its beauty—it's the science of matter, and understanding it gives you a uniquely deep perspective on the world around us. It challenges you to think abstractly, to make connections between atoms and the world around us. I love helping students tap into that way of thinking. Whether I’m answering questions, breaking down tough concepts, or working through problems side by side, I aim to create a space where learning feels both approachable and meaningful. For me, teaching and research go hand-in-hand—both are about discovering, growing, and solving puzzles together. I truly enjoy it, and I hope to inspire students to feel the same way!

My teaching style is interactive and flexible—I focus on solving problems with students while reinforcing core ideas through a mix of visual aids, conceptual explanations, reading, and real-world metaphors that make abstract concepts easier to remember. I believe in positive reinforcement and creating a low-pressure space where questions are always welcome.

Each lesson is tailored to the student’s needs. If they learn best by doing, I’ll bring in problem sets from a variety of textbooks and question banks I have access to. If they need help understanding theory, I’ll break it down step-by-step and connect it to something familiar.

What sets me apart is my ability to adapt on the spot, use creative analogies, and explain chemistry and math in a way that actually sticks. I work with students from middle school through college—whether you're tackling your first chemistry class or prepping for a tough undergraduate exam.

I offer tutoring in General and Organic Chemistry, including help with lab reports, understanding experiments, reaction mechanisms, synthesis, balancing equations, and more. I also tutor Math, covering Algebra, Geometry, and Calculus. I’ll tailor each lesson to your needs and learning style.

Each session starts with a quick check-in to identify what the student is currently working on or struggling with. We’ll review key concepts through brief explanations and visual or conceptual examples. Then, we’ll dive into practice problems together, breaking them down step-by-step while I explain the reasoning behind each move. I adjust the pace based on how comfortable the student feels and leave time at the end for questions, review, or extra practice if needed. Homework help, test prep, or lab report guidance can be worked into any session.
