About Fiona
My passion for Chemistry began with curiosity about how molecules interact and transform. This fascination led me to pursue an M.Sc in Organic Chemistry, providing me with expertise in theoretical principles, laboratory techniques, and analytical reasoning. Over the past 11 years, I have taught students at multiple levels, helping them progress from uncertainty to clarity and confidence through patient, structured instruction. I focus on clarity, adaptability, and encouragement in teaching. I take time to understand each student’s thought process, using visual aids, analogies, and step-by-step explanations to simplify complex topics. I foster a supportive environment where questions are encouraged, and mistakes are treated as valuable learning opportunities, helping students develop resilience, critical thinking, and self-confidence. Outside teaching, I remain actively engaged with Chemistry through experimentation, research, and staying up-to-date with the latest scientific developments. Teaching Chemistry is deeply rewarding because I witness learners develop analytical skills, independence, and confidence. Supporting their intellectual growth and mastery of the subject is the most fulfilling aspect of my work.

Chemistry becomes approachable and fascinating when students are guided through structured, step-by-step lessons that emphasize conceptual clarity and practical applications. My sessions cover atomic theory, chemical bonding, reaction mechanisms, thermodynamics, and energy transformations. I encourage students to connect theoretical concepts to real-world scenarios, helping them develop critical thinking, analytical skills, and confidence in problem-solving. Each lesson is designed to gradually build understanding, curiosity, and mastery of chemical principles.
Lesson content is tailored to the learner’s level. Beginners explore chemical symbols, formula writing, and simple reactions using visual aids and guided exercises. Intermediate learners focus on stoichiometry, periodic trends, acids and bases, and reaction types through hands-on practice. Advanced learners study equilibrium, kinetics, thermodynamics, and complex organic reactions, emphasizing structured problem-solving, accuracy, and analytical reasoning. Carefully selected exercises reinforce learning and track progress effectively.
Chemistry lessons also promote patience, logical reasoning, and independent thinking. As learners gain conceptual clarity, they approach scientific challenges confidently and methodically.
