About Fawzy

My name is Fawzy, and I am a Chemistry specialist with a Bachelor of Science in Special Chemistry and over eight years of hands-on professional experience in the chemical industry. I also hold a specialized certification in Cancer Chemotherapy Protocols — a qualification that reflects the depth and seriousness of my scientific background.

What makes me different from most tutors is that I have not only studied Chemistry at university level — I have applied it every day in a real industrial environment, working with live chemical processes, reactions, and scientific systems that most people only read about in textbooks. This gives me a genuine and practical understanding of the subject that I bring directly into every lesson I teach.

I have experience tutoring secondary school Chemistry students, and I understand the specific challenges that young learners face with this subject. Chemistry can feel overwhelming and abstract — but in my experience, the moment a student connects a concept to something real and tangible, everything changes. That is exactly the approach I take in every lesson.

I am patient, structured, and genuinely passionate about helping students succeed. I never move on from a topic until I am confident my student has understood it fully. I adapt my teaching style to suit each individual — whether a student needs to build their confidence from the ground up, strengthen a specific weak area, or push for the highest possible grade in their Cambridge IGCSE or O Level examinations.

I teach through the medium of English, as required by the Cambridge curriculum, and I am also able to provide additional explanation in Arabic for students who benefit from support in their native language. This bilingual ability is something many of my students find extremely valuable — it removes the language barrier and allows them to focus entirely on understanding the Chemistry itself.

Whether you are struggling with the basics or aiming for top marks, I am here to help you reach your goal. I look forward to working with you.

My name is Fawzy, a Chemistry graduate with a B.Sc. in Special Chemistry and over 8 years of real-world industrial experience working in a live chemical production plant. What truly sets me apart from other Chemistry tutors is simple — I did not just study Chemistry, I lived it. I spent years monitoring chemical reactions, operating industrial processes, and solving real problems in a hazardous chemical environment every single day. This means I can connect every topic in the IGCSE and O Level syllabus to a genuine, real-world example that makes the subject click for students in a way that textbooks simply cannot.
My Teaching Method and Techniques
I believe Chemistry should be understood, not memorized. My approach is built on three pillars. First, I explain the concept clearly using simple language and real-life examples — for instance, when teaching acids and bases, I draw on my direct experience working with industrial acids to make the chemistry feel tangible and relevant. Second, I work through practice problems step by step alongside the student, making sure every calculation and every concept is fully understood before moving forward. Third, I focus heavily on exam technique — I train students on how to answer IGCSE and O Level exam questions correctly, how to read mark schemes, and how to pick up every available mark.
A Typical Lesson Plan
A standard lesson with me follows a clear, structured format. I begin with a short review of the previous session to reinforce what was covered. I then introduce the new topic with a clear explanation supported by diagrams, real examples, or visual aids as needed. We then work through exam-style questions together, and I finish every lesson with a short summary and a set of practice questions for the student to complete independently before our next session. Every lesson is personalized — if a student needs more time on a particular concept, we spend more time. I never rush.
What Sets Me Apart
Most Chemistry tutors teach from a textbook. I bring the subject to life from real experience. I have worked with chemical reactions, industrial processes, hazardous materials, and scientific instrumentation in a professional environment for over six years — and I also hold a specialized certification in Cancer Chemotherapy Protocols from Assiut University, which gives me an exceptional depth of chemical and scientific knowledge far beyond standard academic training. I am also bilingual in Arabic and English, which means I can deliver the full lesson in English as required by the Cambridge curriculum, while also supporting Arabic-speaking students who need scientific concepts explained in their native language to fully grasp the material.
Who These Lessons Are For
My lessons are designed for students aged 14 to 16 studying Chemistry under the Cambridge IGCSE (0620) or O Level curriculum at international or private schools. I am particularly well suited to students who find Chemistry difficult or confusing and need a patient, clear, and encouraging tutor to rebuild their confidence. I also work with students who are already performing at a good level but want to push for top grades in their final examinations. Whether you are just starting the course, preparing for mock exams, or have a specific topic that is giving you trouble — I can help.
