About Willa
My fascination with Chemistry started with curiosity about molecular behavior and the invisible forces that govern reactions. I earned a B.Sc in Chemical Sciences, studying bonding, reaction mechanisms, thermodynamics, kinetics, and analytical techniques. Over the past 9 years, I have taught students across varying skill levels, focusing on conceptual clarity, analytical reasoning, and confidence-building. I adopt a patient, structured, and individualized teaching approach. Lessons integrate visual aids, real-world examples, and stepwise problem-solving to help learners internalize concepts and develop independent thinking. I foster a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and experimenting with ideas. Beyond teaching, I stay engaged with contemporary research, lab experiments, and educational strategies. Witnessing students evolve from hesitant beginners into confident, analytical thinkers capable of approaching complex chemical problems is profoundly rewarding. My aim is to cultivate both academic mastery and intellectual curiosity, equipping learners with practical reasoning skills and confidence that extend far beyond the Chemistry classroom.

Chemistry becomes intuitive when learners understand the principles behind molecular interactions, reaction patterns, and energy changes rather than memorizing formulas. My lessons cover atomic structure, bonding, periodic trends, stoichiometry, thermochemistry, acids and bases, equilibrium, and basic organic chemistry. I emphasize connecting abstract concepts to tangible examples, using visual aids, step-by-step explanations, and structured exercises to foster deeper comprehension. This approach develops analytical thinking, critical reasoning, and confidence in solving chemical problems.
Lesson plans are tailored to the student’s level. Beginners explore fundamental atomic models, valency, bonding, and simple reactions. Intermediate learners focus on mole calculations, reaction energetics, and equilibrium analysis. Advanced students tackle multi-step organic reaction mechanisms, thermodynamic reasoning, and laboratory interpretation exercises. Each session includes guided practice, constructive feedback, and reasoning prompts to strengthen understanding and promote independent problem-solving.
