About Toshiki
I am a 30-year-old independent science writer and podcaster living in North Dallas offering individual and small group tutoring in the Dallas area (and online). I tutor math and science at the high school and university levels for short-term and long-term studying. I am a published scientist with a B.S. with high honors in Chemistry from UC Berkeley and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from MIT with ten years of teaching and tutoring experience, both high school and university levels.

My tutoring philosophy is to be patient and to motivate students to learn by making the subject relevant and enjoyable. Because I work in science communication, I spend a lot of time thinking about how to make technical scientific concepts engaging. Beyond the academic courses, I try to encourage my students to think about how their education contributes to their long-term goals and motivate them to explore different ways that science is important for various career options.
