About Melanie
With over 7 years of experience and a Master’s degree in Chemistry (MChem), I specialize in helping students understand the complex world of atmospheric chemistry and environmental pollution. My approach is rooted in clarity and connection—breaking down difficult topics and linking them to real-world environmental issues. I’ve guided learners through detailed explorations of smog formation, ozone layer depletion, acid rain chemistry, and the impact of greenhouse gases with confidence and success. I work closely with environmental science students, as well as those interested in careers involving air quality management and climate policy. Many of my students go on to pursue research, advocacy, or policy roles where chemical knowledge is essential. My lessons often go beyond the classroom, helping students understand how chemical reactions influence global climate systems, and how thoughtful science can lead to meaningful solutions. I place strong emphasis on understanding mechanisms, data interpretation, and the chemistry behind atmospheric monitoring tools. Chemistry gives us the tools to not only analyze the atmosphere but to protect it. There is great joy in uncovering how the smallest molecules shape the air we breathe and the climate we live in. I bring that joy into every session—helping students see the beauty in chemistry’s role in solving global challenges.
