About Ivy
My Chemistry lessons are designed for students aiming to excel in advanced test preparation, especially AP Chemistry. I’m a Chemistry tutor with over 4 years of teaching experience and a Master’s degree in Inorganic Chemistry. My passion lies in the fascinating world of food preservation and food analysis. I enjoy exploring how chemical processes influence the quality, safety, and shelf-life of the food we consume.
I study the chemical changes that occur during food spoilage, the role of antioxidants, and how emulsifiers affect texture and stability. I also explore the science behind preservation methods such as canning, drying, and fermentation. Each technique has a unique chemical story, and I help students understand it in clear, practical ways.
In my lessons, I guide students to connect theory with real-world applications. We look at how chemical reactions impact flavour, nutrition, and safety. I focus on helping learners understand food safety and quality from a chemical perspective.
