About Bryn

I have been teaching chess for over seven years, helping students from beginners to experienced club players. My approach blends structured study with practical play, ensuring each student gains both the theoretical knowledge and applied skill to grow steadily. Throughout my coaching, I have prepared students for tournaments, school championships, and online competitions. I prioritize critical thinking, patience, and disciplined calculation, enabling my students to face any opponent with confidence and strategic clarity. Outside of teaching, I study and play regularly in rated events to keep my knowledge sharp and my understanding of modern chess trends up to date. This allows me to offer lessons that are both relevant and deeply informed by current competitive play.

About the lesson

Our lessons begin with understanding the core principles of chess openings and early development. You’ll learn how to control the center, coordinate your pieces effectively, and avoid common early-game mistakes while building openings that suit your personal style and strengths.

We then move to mid-game strategies, focusing on tactical patterns, positional play, and calculation skills. Through guided analysis of games, targeted exercises, and real-time problem-solving, you’ll learn how to identify opportunities, create threats, and maintain an advantage against opponents.

Finally, we concentrate on endgame mastery, from basic checkmating patterns to complex king and pawn structures. You’ll develop the precision needed to convert small advantages into wins and handle critical moments with calm, calculated decision-making under pressure.
