About Isla

I have 8 years of experience teaching chess and helping students build strong thinking skills and confidence. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, which supports logical reasoning and analytical thinking. Over the years, I have worked with learners at different levels and helped them improve through structured and supportive lessons.

My teaching style is simple, patient, and focused on understanding. I believe chess should be taught in a clear and enjoyable way. I break down strategies into small steps and use examples to make concepts easy to understand. I encourage students to think independently and build confidence gradually.

I continue to improve my teaching methods and stay engaged with new strategies and learning approaches. Teaching chess is meaningful to me because I see students grow in confidence and thinking ability. My goal is to support learners in building strong strategy, focus, and confidence so they can enjoy the game and continue improving with consistency and interest.

About the lesson

Chess becomes easier when learners understand the ideas behind moves instead of only memorizing openings. In my lessons, I focus on basic rules, piece coordination, simple tactics, and step-by-step thinking. I explain each concept in simple English so students can follow comfortably and build confidence gradually. I include puzzles, guided practice games, and position analysis to make learning engaging. This helps students understand how to plan moves and think ahead clearly. I create a calm and focused environment where learners feel comfortable improving without pressure.

Lessons are structured based on the student’s level and goals. Beginners focus on rules, piece movement, and basic tactics. Intermediate learners develop strategies, pattern recognition, and planning skills. Advanced students focus on deeper analysis, advanced tactics, and competitive preparation. I provide regular practice, feedback, and correction to support steady progress. This structure helps learners improve consistently and feel more confident in their game.

As students continue learning, they develop stronger logical thinking and better decision-making skills. They begin to approach the game with more confidence and clarity. Many learners start enjoying chess more as they improve their understanding. My goal is to help students build strong thinking skills and confidence so they can play chess effectively and continue improving with interest and motivation over time.
