About Ka

I was born and bred in Hong Kong for the first 16 years of my life. I came to Australia back in the late 1990s, when Friends was joking about Baywatch and Joey in the Air. Decades after, my mind, body and soul are westernised, but not localised. I am a practical person. I never spend a good few years in higher education that costs too much, but promises nothing. With me, you will learn practical Cantonese, and its cultural significant, as well as its variation in the written form of Traditional Chinese Writing from me.

Here are the reasons why I am better than most:
*Because my accent is minimal.
*Because my teaching style is as efficient as the continuation of family tradition; unlike the teaching style of academic that has only 5% of its undertakers retained the knowledge in time to come, by statistical facts.
*Because I teach more than just a language, rather I teach the language to enable access for one of the dominant cultures in the world.
*Because my systematical mind allows clear understanding on vocabulary and grammar.
*Because I know the cultural significance of expressions, their appropriate applications in various social settings, and I know better to articulate complicated than most - from streetsmart to eastern and western philosophies.

About the lesson

My teaching methodology is catered to the learner. Generally I try to apply the suitable approach based on the interests and the ability of the undertaker, in the contexts of learning theory and learning strategy. For instance, a pupil that hates penmanship would be encouraged to remember how the Chinese character is written through sound cue and the playback of visual in its mind. For another instance, a pupil that has a taste for poetry and lyrics, would be introduced to content of the same interests in the Cantonese Chinese language by me.

I adhere to the principle No-One-Left-Behind. Thus I consider Game and Educational Domain irrelevant. Since loser in game, and educational domain are limitations through the tests of reason and facts. The proves in common sense are common; Kevin Rudd's Mandarin speech is comparable to a primary school kid reading off text in mainland China, and ABC employs translators whose works are full of errors in the eyes of native speakers that are educated on both languages. Full of errors that can not be considered professional. If it's up to me, I will help you achieve better than a face of a nation, and better than the industrial standard of entertainment.
