About Rachel
Hi! My name is Rachel and I am a senior at Glenbrook North High School. I have tutored high school students in reading and writing for GBN's Academic Resource Center (ARC) for 3 years and have received formal tutoring training through the ARC. I am passionate about not only providing feedback on essays, but also helping students to feel more confident throughout the entire writing process.

I provide feedback on essays as well as guidance throughout the entire writing process, from brainstorming to final revision. I also help students with reading comprehension. Both reading and writing tutoring sessions are question-based in order to help students improve the way that they think about an essay or text: rather than telling a student what to do to improve a paper, I will use guiding questions to help them brainstorm their own solutions. This approach ensures independent thinking that will build lasting foundations in reading and writing.
