About Yimeng
I am a native Chinese speaker with experience tutoring beginners.
I have worked with children and adult learners, which has helped me develop a patient, clear, and encouraging teaching style. I understand how challenging it can feel to learn a completely new language, especially at the beginning, so I always adapt my teaching pace to each student’s needs.
I teach Chinese because I truly enjoy helping others gain confidence in communication.
Seeing students go from feeling unsure to being able to speak simple Chinese sentences is very rewarding for me. I believe language learning should be practical, supportive, and enjoyable, and my goal is to help learners feel comfortable using Chinese in real-life situations, not just memorising words.

I break down pronunciation (especially tones), basic vocabulary, and simple grammar into small, achievable goals so students never feel overwhelmed. My lessons are interactive: students speak from the very first class, and I always give encouraging, constructive feedback to help them grow. I also use real-life scenarios—like greetings, ordering food, or simple conversations—so learners can immediately feel the progress they’re making. Most importantly, I build a warm, supportive environment where students feel safe to make mistakes and enjoy the learning process. I want every learner to feel confident, motivated, and proud of their improvement.
