About Maya

I’m a native Italian speaker with professional teaching experience and an international background. Living in Canada has allowed me to work with students from different cultures and learning styles, helping me develop a flexible, effective approach to language teaching. I combine structure with adaptability. I take my role seriously, I prepare every lesson with intention, and I focus on delivering clear progress rather than vague “exposure” to the language. My students know what we are working on, why we’re working on it, and how it will help them improve. Professionalism, consistency, and respect for your time are central to how I teach. Whether you’re learning Italian for personal, professional, or cultural reasons, my goal is to help you build real competence and confidence in the language.

About the lesson

My lessons are fully tailored to the student. There’s no one-size-fits-all method, because learning Italian depends on your level, your goals, and how you actually use the language. We start by defining what you need: learning from scratch, strengthening grammar, improving conversation, refining writing, or gaining confidence using Italian in real-life situations. From there, I build a clear, structured plan. A typical lesson combines: - practical grammar explained in a simple, logical way - guided conversation to improve fluency and confidence - targeted exercises based on your weaknesses - real examples taken from everyday Italian, not textbook Italian Lessons evolve as you progress. If a specific skill needs more focus, we pivot. The goal is efficiency, clarity, and real improvement, not endless theory. You learn what you need, at your pace, with measurable progress. No time wasted.
