About Renee

Hi, I’m Renee! I’m currently studying for a Master’s in Civil Engineering at Imperial College London, following my undergraduate degree in Chemistry at the University of Virginia. I’ve always been fascinated by how science helps us understand the world around us, which led me to pursue scientific research and work professionally as an environmental chemist.

I enjoy sharing my enthusiasm for science and helping others discover that even the most challenging subjects can be rewarding. I find it particularly fulfilling to help students grow in confidence and realise their potential.

Outside of my studies, I love cooking, hiking and playing the piano. I bring a friendly, patient and professional approach to tutoring and look forward to helping students on their learning journey!

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring is to make STEM subjects accessible and engaging while building students’ confidence and understanding. As a Civil Engineering Master’s student at Imperial College London, with a BSc in Chemistry and a background in Biochemistry and Environmental Science, I bring strong subject knowledge and practical scientific experience to my lessons.

I tailor each lesson to the student’s individual needs, learning style and academic goals, using clear explanations, worked examples and practice questions. Whether preparing for GCSEs, A-levels or early schooling, I focus on building a solid understanding of concepts and developing independent problem-solving skills.

Lessons typically last 60 minutes, with sessions up to 3 hours, though schedules are flexible to suit each student. I offer tutoring in Chemistry (including Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry and Environmental Chemistry), Mathematics, Environmental Science and Microbiology.
