I am someone who struggled to get the desired results I wanted without a massive amount of work, but I’m also the type of student who knows how to make things easier for those like me and even those who aren’t. I teach from the ground up always, even an A student can be lacking somewhere fundamentally that stops them from getting even further. I enjoy jokes and using as many real world examples as possible. I start the very session with a spot test then proceed to build from there I have no issue with a student who simply wants specific help but I believe you can never hurt yourself by rehashing things you believe yourself to be confident in.
