About Muhammad
I am an Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering at NUST and hold a PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of Houston, with specialization in Structural Engineering. I have several years of university-level teaching and research experience in civil and structural engineering.
I have taught courses including Mechanics/Strength of Materials, Structural Analysis, Concrete Technology, Reinforced Concrete Design, Steel Design, and Structural Masonry, and my research involves experimental structural engineering, high-strength steel reinforcement, masonry structures, and nonlinear finite element analysis.
Having been both a student and a university instructor, I understand that engineering subjects can become difficult when equations and procedures are presented without explaining the physical behavior behind them. My approach is to connect theory, equations, diagrams, and real structural behavior so that you understand not only how to solve a problem, but also why the solution works.
Whether you need help with a difficult concept, homework, exam preparation, or want to strengthen your engineering fundamentals, I aim to provide a patient and approachable learning environment where you can ask questions freely.

My lessons are structured around conceptual understanding followed by step-by-step problem solving. We first establish the engineering principles behind a problem, identify the known and unknown quantities, draw the necessary diagrams, select the appropriate equations, and then work through the solution systematically.
For structural subjects, I place particular emphasis on understanding loads, reactions, free-body diagrams, shear and moment diagrams, stress and strain, deformation, structural behavior, and design principles rather than simply memorizing equations.
I can provide tutoring in Statics, Engineering Mechanics, Mechanics/Strength of Materials, Structural Analysis, Reinforced Concrete Design, Steel Design, Concrete Technology, Structural Masonry, and related Civil/Structural Engineering subjects. I can also assist with introductory finite element concepts and engineering applications of mathematics and mechanics.
Lessons are tailored to your level, from undergraduate fundamentals to more advanced structural engineering topics. If you are preparing for an exam, we can focus on important concepts and practice problems. If you are struggling with a course, we can work from the fundamentals and gradually build toward more difficult problems.
My objective is for you to leave the lesson understanding the engineering reasoning behind the solution and feeling confident enough to approach similar problems independently.
