About Carolyn
You will find that your musical growth stems from clear, thoughtful guidance. We explore complex classical repertoire alongside fundamental bowing mechanics. My approach utilizes recorded playback of tricky passages for your home practice. This method helps you isolate challenges before the next meeting.
I use my University of Toronto training to break down difficult sections into manageable movements. Everything centers on steady, calm progress. There is no rush to finish a piece before it feels correct. Perhaps you might join me for a session soon.

Fifteen years of performing across Canada informs my teaching of the violin. This duration in the industry has grounded my approach to classical and folk traditions.
I earned a Bachelor of Music in Multi-instrument performance from the University of Toronto Faculty of Music. My work covers music theory, tuning by ear, and bowing technique including spiccato and staccato. I enjoy helping adults and exam candidates navigate scales and arpeggios.
Refined intonation remains a central focus of my practice. It is genuinely satisfying to watch students find their voice.
