Classical violinist turned fiddle player! After studying at the Adelaide Conservatorium, I moved overseas to broaden my horizons in Irish, gypsy, folk, pop, jazz and Danish.

About Georgie
I began my musical journey at the age of 7, wanting nothing more than to learn about this instrument that had sparked my curiosity. Flash forward 11 years, I began studying a Bachelor of Classical Performance at the Adelaide Conservatorium. After completing my studies, I closed my chapter in the classical world. I was ready for new territory and challenges.
And so, I moved to Europe. I lived in England, Ireland and Spain, while traveling to multiple countries in between. With my fiddle in tow, I travelled around soaking up these new realms of fiddle playing. Irish, Danish, gypsy, folk; I was hooked.
Ever since, I have been diving deeper and deeper into these alternative streams of violin playing. I play in various bands, and have played gigs regularly around Geelong, the Surf Coast and Melbourne, including Queenscliff Music Festival. I have recorded for multiple groups, and am now creating my own music.

Through teaching violin over the last 9 years, I have developed a teaching method that revolves around the belief that by learning about multiple genres and techniques, you can become an independent and creative musician. This in turn opens up opportunities to play in a collaborative sense (eg. in a band) much more naturally. These genres include Irish, jazz, gypsy, Danish, pop, rock and folk. Through tailoring lessons to your desires and needs, we can achieve this together in a enjoyable and rewarding manner.
I teach in slots of 30, 45 and 60 minutes.
