About Nicole

Having grown up surrounded by many amazing teachers, both in and out of school, who have had a significant influence on my educational experience and shaped me as an individual, which includes acting as a support network for my goals, I believe that teachers play a major role in any student's life. I feel that it would be hugely rewarding to know that I have made a valuable contribution towards a student's growth and ability to achieve to their potential. As a tutor I would love to have the opportunity to give my students a meaningful educational experience that allows them to prosper both academically and in their confidence.

About the lesson

Each lesson will be guided by the goals and expectations of the student. This can involve the aim of sitting practical exams or simply for fun. We may start with some warm-up exercises which are essential for establishing foundational technical skills, following by learning/playing whichever pieces the student wishes to. Any further training such as scales, aural, sight-reading, or theory may be provided if requested.

The length of each lesson depends on the preferences of the student, however typically this would be approximately 1 hour. I have been playing the piano since the age of 6, which involved sitting practical exams such as Trinity and ABRSM wherein I obtained my ATCL diploma in Year 11. I have plenty of experience competing both on a solo level and in chamber music groups and orchestras, which have given me the opportunity to play at a regional and national level.

My lessons are for anyone who wishes to gain some more experience playing the piano - whether this includes sitting exams, or just for fun!
