About Charlotte

I remember the first time I heard my mother play one of Chopin’s waltzes on the radio. I knew then and there what my passion in life was. I started taking piano lessons when I was 3 years old and I fell in love with it. My goals may have changed slightly over the years, but my love for the piano has grown stronger ever since. I started Grace Notes Music Studio to share that love with the world. It’s important to me to encourage people of all ages to start and maintain their musical journeys for the rest of their lives. That’s why I believe in continuing my education every chance I get. Ultimately, my goal is to obtain my PhD in Music Education and help as many communities as I can enjoy learning about music.

About the lesson

I believe in a custom-tailored, multi-method approach to teaching the piano. Music education should not be a “one size fits all” situation. Some students learn faster, some students learn slower. Some students learn better by listening, some students learn better by watching. Every student is different and deserves a different approach. This is why I use multiple piano method books in my studio and use both “on bench” and “off bench” learning. My lesson planning is completely dependent on what each student needs day to day. Some days we will work on technique, some days we will work on composition, but we will always work toward your goals in a mindful manner. I teach ages 3 & up, from beginners to late intermediate/early advanced students. I also have a special interest in teaching the chronically ill, neurodivergent, and other special needs communities.
