About Charlie
I am currently undertaking a Masters in Classics. I am passionate about the ancient world, with a particular leaning towards the Greek side of my courses, and the ancient languages and literature. I started ancient Greek at beginner level in my undergraduate degree and continued it until now, to be able to take modules on Greek papyrology and Greek dialects in my masters. I also like reading (me and my grandmother bond over crime fiction) and writing, and I like watching TV and going for walks with my friends to see the horses nearby.

I find that it is really important to let students pave the way, especially with online lessons where concentration can be an issue! If something is not working, or if someone is struggling, it is always good to take a step back and start from the beginning, and to try explaining material in a new way that might engage a student better. It's also important to include fun activities while teaching, for example, in my last session when I was tutoring ancient Greek, I asked the students if there were any ancient texts they wanted to look at - they all agreed on the Iliad, and so I changed my last lesson to include this in as accessible a way as I could, and we had a lot of fun reading that together. It is experiences like that that stay with you as a teacher or a student, and help to maintain what you've learned.
I am happy to teach between 30 mins - an hour and I can cater to students between the ages of 12-18.
