About Simon
I am a college student who has achieved a score of 750 on the reading and writing section of the SAT and 660 on the math section. I have been certified as a reading and writing tutor as part of College Board's official SAT Bootcamp volunteer program. Though I specialize in R&W, I am also open to tutoring SAT math (or other subjects entirely).

My methodology is inspired by the curriculum I was trained with as a College Board volunteer tutor. I help my students identify their weak points via official Bluebook practice tests and stats from their past SATs. From there, I help them narrow down the specific problem types they are struggling with and teach them the techniques that I use to tackle those problems. I am prepared to tutor anyone who intends to increase their SAT score - this usually means high school students, of course.
My training at College Board emphasized that tutoring sessions should not be lectures, and that both parties (tutor and student) must listen to one another in order for learning to be effective. This is a standard that I continue to hold myself to.
For in-person tutoring: my ability to travel is somewhat limited, and I will have to charge extra for teaching at a student's home unless the student is located within 5 minutes of where I live (near Toco Hills in North Decatur, Georgia). My ability to travel and the amount of the extra charge depends heavily on the specifics of the timing and location.
